Zuleyka's That Odd Chick

I'm a confusing person. Many have described me as eclectic, erratic, and, sadly, bipolar. I do have to agree with those people, however. There are days when I am completely outgoing and spunky, and there are other days when I'm a total loner. I have activated and deactivated my Facebook page more times than I can remember. I've uploaded all my photographs to flickr just to take them down hours later. My mother says I'm nuts and indecisive. I'm happy to say I think I'm odd and I'm comfortable with it.

I'm an island girl. I'm half Puerto Rican and have been to the island every summer since my birth. I regard Puerto Rico as my second home. I've always been fond of the tropical air and scenery. I am definitely a beach bum and enjoy swimming and scuba diving any chance I get. I've never felt comfortable in the hectic atmosphere of the city, yet I have always felt at peace in the open air of untouched nature. I try to spend every possible moment I can at parks and beaches where I can get away from the hustle and bustle of New York City and take in the sights or a few nature shots with my camera.

I'm also a huge media junky. I love reading through all the tabloid photos and articles on the latest celebrity gossip, yet I will be the first to criticize the paparazzi for invading people's privacy or starting false rumors. I also love looking at freelance photography on flickr. I myself am an amateur photographer and love my slr like a mother loves her child. I'm also a passionate writer and have published articles on two school web magazines, The Bridge and 6mix. I'm an avid youtube user, and at one point posted videos of myself covering various songs, both vocals and instrumentals, of my favorite artists. Being true to my erratic nature, however, I took my videos down. I'm also a huge critique when it comes to music and the music industry. My pride and joy, as a matter of fact, is an article I wrote last semester for The Bridge titled "It's Friday, and Youtube is Dumbing Down Musical Taste (again)", in which I critiqued the music industry's dependency on autotune as a way of producing "new talent". In light of new media, I consider myself an old soul in terms of my unwavering dedication to radio, particularly z100. I have been a fan of their radio station, particularly the morning show, for 8 solid years. I'm also extremely passionate about the paranormal and am an encyclopedia when it comes to the subject area.

Who do I think I am? I think I'm just odd me.
